Subject: Icom 735 key clicks
To: ham-equip@ucsd.edu
My Icom 735 is generating key clicks when I operate in CW. Scoping the
output reveals that the carrier turn-on is less than 1 ms, with turn-off
around 2.5 ms. The turn-on is clearly too fast.
Checking the schematic, I see two RC networks in the keying chain, but both
appear to shape carrier turnoff; key-down seems to ripple right through. Am
I missing something here?
If anyone has encountered and resolved this problem, or has first-hand
knowledge of the 735's key shaping circuitry, I'd appreciate an email message
to dhb@netcom.com.
Thanks,
Dave, AA6YQ

No! Amateur radioos are not type approved by the FCC for commercial
service. As well, most countries have similar rules. Now, if you want
to use them illegally . . . ;->
